The DORELCO is an institution mandated to help implement the Rural Electrification Program. As an Electric Cooperative under PD 269, it is a non- stock, non-profit electric utility. It remains the pioneer and continues to be the prime partner of government in rural electrification in these central parts of Leyte Island.

CEBECO I and DORELCO Invests into REFC

The Cebu I Electric Cooperative (CEBECO I) represented by its Board President, Engr. Mariano Y. Blanco, Jr., and General Manager, Ms. Marlou M. Rendon, and with its headquarters located in Bito-on, Dumanjug, Cebu invested 5,000 shares into REFC's capital stock under its Board Resolution No. 82 series of 2010. Likewise the Don Orestes Romualdez Electric Cooperative (DORELCO) represented by its Board President, Dir. Valentino V. Adolfo, and General Manager, Atty. Emmanuel P. Saño also placed in 1,000 shares into REFC by virtue of its Board Resolution No. 030 - 10. The Dorelco headquarters is located in San Rque, Tolosa, Leyte.

The investments of both Co-ops were accepted by the REFC Board during the January 24, 2011 Board meeting. CEBECO I became the 64th Investor-EC while DORELCO is the 65th Co-op owner of REFC. Together with our non-EC partner NRECA Electricity for Progress (NEP), there are now 66 shareholders owning REFC.
